If you have been reading me for any length of time you know I like to complain about my hair. It is frizzy! It is wavy! It won’t hold a style! Nothing works! I’ve been counting the days down to my birthday when I planned to ask my mom for money towards a Keratin treatment.
Basically, I have bad hair.
I was away with my sister last weekend. My sister, has good hair. We were discussing my hair woes and she said, “I really think it is your hair brush. You should get a new hair brush. Your hair is not frizzy. Your brush is making your hair frizzy.”
On Friday I went to get my hair cut and colored. I am constantly complaining to my hair dresser about how much I hate my hair. She was the one who suggested I try Wen. I told her it didn’t work. She just shook her head. She is always telling me I don’t have frizzy hair, that it is all in my head. I told my sister’s theory. Her response, “could be, what are you using?” “I don’t know, I have like 15 hair brushes, I probably bought them all at Target.”
She rolled her eyes and handed me a Cricket Technique Barrel Hair Brush. (I paid $22 at my salon. This is a link to a $11 affiliate link on amazon. Whatever.) We all know that when the salon blows out your hair it looks amazing. I have now blowed out my hair twice at home. Even with the rainy, windy, horrible weather in DC, my hair is smooth, shiny, and not even a little bit frizzy. My husband, who is so tired of discussions about my hair, even said “hey, your hair looks really good.” (He may have just been saying this because he no longer wants to discuss my hair. Nor does he want me spending $400 on Keratin.)
It is like the heavens opened, the birds sang, and they handed me a hair brush. It was worth every penny of the $22.
