Ice, Ice, Baby

by Jodifur on December 3, 2012

A few weeks ago my family was invited to ICE! at the Gaylord. We had been last year and had a great time and Michael was so excited to go back.

This year, ICE! is based on the Dreamworks’ TV show Shrek the Halls and it is super adorable and really, really cold.

Michael loves walking through the huge ice carved world that includes a million pounds of ice.  There is even a slide made out of ice you can go down.  You can see all your favorite characters, Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Gingy and Puss in Boots.  And we even got to meet the characters.

Other great parts of the day involved making a Gingerbread train with Gingy, and running around the hotel trying to figure out the hardest scavenger hunt in the world.  It took myself, my husband, and Kim and Sue’s families to get the answers.

ICE! has a LOT of activities besides the actual ice.  There is the gingerbread house decorating, Dreamworks character meet and greet, and an evening tree lighting show that includes an indoor snow storm!  All details, with prices, can be found here.

Gaylord National hosted my family for an afternoon of activities including tickets. All opinions are my own.

I would love to do something like that with the kids! Seriously, an ice slide? Awesome!

Jack fell in love with Gingy. He kept pretending to steal his gumdrop buttons and Gingy kept pretending to attack him. It was hilarious.
