Mini-Break

by Jodifur on November 4, 2012

A few months ago my sister called and asked if I wanted to go away with her and my nephew for a few days. School is out Monday and Tuesday and we decided to head down to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. (Totally unsponsored by the way. I know they work with a lot of bloggers but this is the old fashioned way. You know, where you put in a credit card number. :)) It is the first time we have ever done this, just us and the kids, and Michael thinks my nephew MAY be the coolest person EVER.

Things are a little stressful around these parts for a LOT of unbloggable reasons, but I keep repeating in the wake of Sandy that we are all warm, and safe, and dry. Our house is fine, and the things I have learned in the almost 20 years of being a grown up is that stressful times pass, and in the end we all get through them.

I took advantage of my state’s early voting last week, as did my sister, and it feels great to know we don’t have to rush home Tuesday to make sure we vote. Doug and I have a tradition of staying up late to watch the returns, and I plan to be up into the wee hours Tuesday night waiting to see what happens. I think you all know who I support, and I don’t plan on turning this post into a last minute election plea.

No matter which candidate you support, even if it is not my guy, please go out and vote on Tuesday. We are lucky to live in this country, with free speech and free elections, and even if I may not agree with you, I support your right to believe what you believe.

Here’s to a fun, water filled few days, and I’ll see you soon.

I’m taking my daughter with me to vote on Tuesday. I can’t wait to attempt to instill some civic pride in her.

Every time someone mentions Great Wolf Lodge, I think about what an awesome trip it would be to make with cousins. Have fun!
