Gobble Gobble With a Side of Nonsense

by Jodifur on November 19, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving Week!  When did Thanksgiving become a week?  Also, when did Black Friday start on Thursday?  Is anyone REALLY going to go shopping at 5 pm on Thursday or whatever such nonsense?

(Grumble, grabs coffee.)

This is the week I end up running around like a lunatic all week trying to cook, clean, host, work, be all things for all people and failing at most.  I’ve also decided we must have an area rug for our living room RIGHT NOW.  Have you ever decided to buy an area rug that minute?  Don’t.  It is not going well.  I’m going to work out today and then go BACK to Home Goods and come home and cook.  I know most people love Home Goods but I’m just not feeling it.  The world will probably keep turning if I don’t have an area rug by Thanksgiving though.  Maybe.  Probably.

The area rug thing is really just a big distraction.  My dad is having surgery tomorrow.  And if you have read me long enough you know I am quite the Daddy’s girl.  I am handling it mostly by being in denial and pretending it is not happening.  (And having a major melt down to Stimey yesterday. Poor Stimey.  We were in line to see the characters at ICE! (sponsored) and I’m all AHHHHHHH. I’m sorry Jean.)  But I am going to ask a favor of the internets.  Can you send my Dad good thoughts/juju/prayers/whateveritisthatyoudo?  I’d be very, very appreciative.  As would he and my mom.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving week.  Posting will be light this week because I’m busy cooking/area rug shopping/not freaking out.  You know, the norm.

My favorite post contest is open until tonight at 5 pm.

P.S. This nonsensical post is brought to you by the fact that wordpress kept kicking me out and losing the post.  DAMN YOU WORDPRESS.

Sending positive thoughts and mojo-jojo vibes for your father!!!

Yes, I hate all the shopping hustle and bustle. I have my cart on Amazon pretty much ready to go, I just need to click it and be done. My goal in life is that my children never see the inside of a store on Black Friday. We spend our Fridays lounging around, being lazy and preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner #2 at my Dad and Step-Mom’s house.

Anyway — keep us posted on your dad!!!!

Positive thoughts to your dad and your family! (Also, I hope you find an area rug, even just to distract yourself from worry.)

Okay, hon. Take a deep breath…and…another. Oh, sending good thoughts to you and all of yours this week. And please do not go shopping on Thursday evening.
