It is no secret I have been struggling with this space. Some of it is good old fashioned writers block, and some of it is the actual space. I'm just not inspired by it anymore. I've wanted a redesign forever, and Doug has been promising to do one for forever but we came to a realization early in the month that he just didn't have the time. And I did what any grown up blogger would do and I went out and hired someone.
I hemmed and hawed about it. Jodifur is a hobby after all. It is not like I make a lot of money from it. But I am at the point where I had to do something or shut it down. And I'm not ready to shut it down. And Doug understands that and is 100% supportive of it. So stay tuned, in the next couple of months jodifur is going to be a 100% new. New look, new platform, new design.
I for one, cannot wait.
I also got a new haircut. I have bangs. And after watching the Golden Globes clearly bangs are in. I'd post a picture but can anyone take an iphone picture of themself without looking like a complete and total idiot?
Just me?

I relate to this completely, right up to and including the bangs. Got mine last week.
I’ve been in the same place with my blog and did a fair amount of hemming and hawing, too. My new design is launching tomorrow and some new content goals are in place. I ultimately decided, like you, that I’m not ready to let my blog go. I like it… most of the time. So here’s to blog revival! Good luck with your redesign – can’t wait to see the results!
Can’t wait to see the changes! I’m thinking about a few myself. Enjoy your bangs! I think I’ve finally learned that they aren’t for me
I always want to grow them out immediately.
Looking forward to seeing the new look…both on the blog and on your person.
Based on the recent photo I just took of myself with my new bangs to post on my blog (check us out, twinsies and all), no—no, you can’t take an iPhone (or Photo Booth) picture without looking like an idiot.
Writers block over here, too! I desperately want a redesign AND to get the heck out of Blogger, but man does that seem like a major undertaking right now.
Look forward to seeing the changes. Are you moving to wordpress?
I enjoy your writing, so I hope that the site refresh will inspire many more pieces.
I can relate on the site design issue. Though I am using a free WordPress theme, I labored over the choice for weeks. I am in the process of trying to find a new theme for my wife’s site, as well as redesigning her business site. Fun fun!
Best of luck, and I look forward to the new look.
Yay for a new design and yay for bangs!! I’ve been trying to screw up the courage to get bangs as well.
The design thing is hard. My blog is only a few weeks old and I’ve already completely reworked the look. I’m pretty happy with it now, but I know I’ll get bored with it after a bit and want a change.
I too am glad you are sticking around and can’t wait to see what changes are coming!
I can not wait to see the new place!
Also…. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I keep thinking about paying someone to redesign my spot. I drool over pretty portfolios on designers sites. And I do the hemming and hawing. Maybe I’ll follow your lead?
