On Saturday night twenty plus DC bloggers came over for food, fun, and wine. We were the ones who didn't go to BlogHer 11, and what started as a way to get over being sad at not being in San Diego with our friends became a party in and of itself.
I didn't take one picture. I was too busy eating more than I have eaten since Doug got laid off, trying on The Bloggess' red dress, and laughing. Really, really laughing.
The party went past 1 am.
I expected to be really, really sad that I missed BlogHer. That my friends were laughing and dancing without me. But somehow it felt like that episode of Growing Pains when Mike Seaver realizes Gilligan's Island is on even when he is at school. BlogHer went on, with or without me, and I don't even think I was missed all that much. (Except someone thought Jodi Grundig was me. She is not.)
I'm sure BlogHer was a blast this year, but you know, I think HomeHer was even better. There were no Spanx, no one worried about what they wore, or who they needed to impress (although more than one person told me they wore their best shoes to my house, for me.) Everyone brought a dish to share and we caught up. We marveled that Michael slept through it all. We toasted to good friends and good times.
Also, I didn't have to fly anywhere. Which for me, is awesome.
I can't wait to do it again.

Michael can never again complain about noise at bedtime because that house sounded like Union Station track #4. holy hell. Had a lovely time and you were THE hostess.
Thanks so much for hosting us, Jodi. It was a blast, and I even wore pants that weren’t elastic waist just for the special occasion.
Thanks for hosting us! It was so fun! And yes, I can’t BELIEVE Michael slept through all that.
Any party that has The Bloggess’ red dress in attendance is a MAJOR OCCASION. Awesome! Glad you had such a great time.
I had SUCH A GOOD TIME!!!! I’m glad you hosted us and we were able to just come and talk talk talk and nosh nosh nosh.
It was wonderful to see old friends and make new ones. Frankly I had a better time than I had the year I went to BlogHer, and that’s saying something. Can’t wait to do it again, and thanks again for being such a lovely hostess.
Thanks for hosting! It was so nice to put faces with blogs. And as soon as I arrived I thought “I cannot believe I work my Chaco’s to Jodi’s home.” What was I thinking?!? Thank you for not sending me away immediately.
I missed you!
Glad you had fun at home with the other gals. Sounds like fun!!
It was a great party all around! Thanks so much for doing it. I can’t wait to see the dress photos!
Sorry I wore some seriously lame shoes and people thought I was you! Next year we will have to trade IDs or business cards
