Tinkering Away #Giveaway

by Jodifur on June 14, 2011

On Sunday, my family was lucky enough to be invited to the new exhibit at Port Discovery in Baltimore, Md. We love Port Discovery.  Michael loves the climbing structure and the Egypt exhibit and the Mystery House. It is one of our favorite day trips.

I was thrilled when the lovely people at Port Discovery invited me and my family to spend the day there. Not just because we enjoy the place so much, but also, it was the first long distance drive for the Prius! And Doug announced, I think I like this car better than your Passat.  And I did not kill him.  Win/Win.

The new Tinkertoy exhibit was our first stop after they provided us with breakfast. The 1,500 square foot exhibit, targeted to children ages 3-10, includes giant replicas of the classic Tinkertoy construction set.

Throughout the exhibit, children are encouraged to invent, collaborate, energize, change, process, connect, develop, create, and PLAY.  A museum, that encourages children to touch!  No wonder my 6 year old loves it!

I’ve loved every trip we’ve made to Port Discovery. Adding tinker toys doubles the fun!

We haven’t been to PD in a few years, so my now three year old hasn’t had the experience of more than the baby room! But, Tinkertoys? Oh my, how they’re loved by all of my kids, and the age range on the exhibit fits us perfectly (with 3, 5, and 10 year olds in our family!).
Thanks for the opportunity!

We’re thinking we’re due for a daytrip into Baltimore– haven’t been in four or five years. We’ve never been to the Port Discovery Museum, would love to check it out :)

We keep meaning to go and haven’t made it yet. My budding engineer 5 year old would love the tinkertoys. Pick me please!

I want to visit Port Discovery because we haven’t been there for 2 years–w/o a stroller!–so my kids would LOVE to see it w/ ‘big kid’ eyes! :)

Oh, me! Me! We keep meaning to take the kids there but then it always turns out we are too lazy. This would force us to go.

I haven’t been to Port Discovery since my now-16 yr old was around 6 or 7! I’d love to make a day trip of it with the 4 and 5 yr olds!! Loved that place then, bet it’s even better now!

We went to Port Discovery for the first time for Spring Break and would love to make a return trip! My daughter especially loved the mystery exhibit, but I think my son would love this new exhibit!

We LOVE Port Discovery, but have only taken our 4 kids once due to the price. Our kids always ask to go back ad this would really help. And that new exhibit looks perfect for my 5yr old!

I’d love to win the tickets because we have not yet been to Port Discovery. My 2.5 year old daughter is now at the age where I know she’d love it. It would be great to do something different!

We would love to go to Port Discovery! We’ve never been, we talk about it. And we know all our friends love it. But it’s just farther than we would tend to go, and it’s expensive, I know if we had free tickets, we would visit once and get hooked! Thanks for the giveaway!

I love Tinker Toys! Seriously, when Peanut wants to sit down and play with them, I get pumped. They were one of my favorite toys as a kid.
And added bonus? I’m going to be in the Baltimore area next month!

I’m not local, so don’t include me in the giveaway…but I had to comment because the Boston Museum of Science had a similar exhibit this winter, but with K’Nex. It was a blast, so much so that it was hard to tear my boy away to see other things in the museum. I love the hands-on stuff!
