Staycation

by Jodifur on April 18, 2011

I took this week off of work, for the first time ever I took off just because Michael's school was closed.  I normally work through school breaks and put him in his after care program.  But truth is he hates that and I've gotten leave coming out of my ass and I need a break desperately.

We have no big plans, but a little thing planned everyday.  Today we are taking my dad out to lunch for his 65th birthday.  (HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD.)  Tomorrow we are going to paint pottery, which is the thing Michael is most excited about.  Wednesday we have his 6 year doctor's appointment (um, late much?) and a playdate with a friend from school.  Thursday is a class at the Curiosity Zone and Friday, well Friday I have no idea.

I plan to unplug, de stress, and focus on Michael.  I'll be on line, but it will be sporadic, and I plan to even PUT THE PHONE DOWN MOMMY.

I hope all who celebrate Passover have a lovely holiday tonight.  Don't forget that today is the last day to enter to my contest for a Scout bag or bin.

And now, now we are off to do some of this-

See you soon.

Happy birthday to your dad. Chag Sameach to you and your family. Enjoy the staycation.
I think I will take Passover off next year. I’m leaving early today and tomorrow and taking Wednesday off, but I wish I had thought to take the whole week off. Oh well – next year…

You know what? It sounds like a perfect week to me. Enjoy the time together. I hope someday to have as much leave coming out of my non-insubstantial ass to use on such a lovely time as that!
I don’t know if ‘Happy Passover’ is the correct sentiment (ignorant Catholic girl here) but all the best to your family.

I think that all sounds just about perfect.
Oh, and I’m going to out myself and say I’m not sure Emma has had her 8 year well visit . . . she turns 9 on Thursday. Yeah.

I love to stay at home during vacations sometimes. I like big, exciting vacations too but they can be as draining as work. Enjoy your time and re-charge!

Have fun! We did the same last week. Beach trips and movies and playdates and that’s it. It was sweet. Remember to sleep in, too.
