This is so not worthy of a blog post, but if you have been hanging around here the past 4 plus years, it is.
After YEARS, YEARS of, I'm not joining Facebook, I'm never going to join Facebook, it is never, ever, ever, going to happen…..
Well, um, guess what? I'm on Facebook. (People, it took me HOURS to get this link to work. 2 phone calls, and a DM conversation. I'm an idiot on Facebook.) (For the record other people couldn't figure it out either.)
Please go friend me. I feel like a loser out in Facebook land. Friendless. My page is pretty boring right now. I'm still figuring things out. I promise I will do more than post blogs posts. I think. I have no idea what I'm doing actually.
So, fine, everyone who said I would join eventually was right. I did. But not as me. AS JODIFUR. So ha. I win.
Not really. But I needed to get something out of this.

I don’t understand it either, and I’m only on so I can stalk people (in a friendly, non-threatening manner). I have something like 25 Friends and I have updated my status exactly twice. So. I’m on FB, but I’m not ON FB, you know? (It sucks, it really does.)
It’s not that hard. Really it’s just like Twitter, except slower paced. Oh and the character limit is 420, so you don’t have to use broken English anymore. Instead of replying to someone’s tweet, you comment on their status. That’s the basic info, all you really need to know to start. If you wanted to speak directly to someone, you can click on their name and write on their wall. It’s just like starting an @ conversation.
I also refused to join, and it took me a while to figure it out, but now I’m completely off Twitter and on Facebook.
I had to tease you out there on your wall, but really, FB is all right. I use it to keep up with a certain handful of real-life friends who just don’t blog. I have WAY too many friends there because of two different class reunions. I have whittled down the list, but am loathe to cut anymore lest I hurt someone’s feelings. That said, I am super cautious as to who I accept friend requests now. Oh, say – for example…. my sister’s MIL who knows I have a beef with the SIL (yes, HER own daughter) That is a request that will never, ever, ever be confirmed. Ever.
I had problems last year on FB, but now I know the gig and have NO issues unfriending someone if they disrespect me publicly on my wall.
But Jodi, WE WERE THE HOLDOUTS!! WE !! WERE !! THE !! HOLDOUTS!!
(I don’t understand FB, either).
WOW now that’s something I never thought would happen!!! I’ll go add you now.

Hey, wait, is that Shannon/Charming bitch up there? Please tell her that I miss her so so so so so much. I’ve been thinking about her and wondering how she and the kids were.
(That was so a tangent and not about facebook. I have a love hate relationship with it, but I did figure out how to give my blog a fan page, so there’s that.)
Facebook confused me for a really long time. It still seems overly complicated. I’m not there very often, but occasionally I get interesting messages from old high school friends or, dear lord, the ex-stepsister I fell out of touch with TWENTY years ago. Freaky.

OMG. This is too funny. I saw a few friends had become friends with Jodi Fur and I was like, hmmmm…that is SO wierd that there’s a person named Jodi Fur and we know a Jodi who writes jodifur. It honestly didn’t cross my mind that it was really you because I thought you’d NEVER join FB! I’ll friend you now…but I’m not “out” on FB with my blog!
FB is just another place. I originally joined because I have friends there who aren’t anywhere else. I’ve also been found by people I hadn’t talked to in forever (some missed, some, well…).
