Step Right Up, It’s The Greatest Show On Earth

by Jodifur on March 8, 2009

The lovely people at momcentral and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey approached me and asked me to do nothing but give away 2 family four packs of tickets to the circus!  So hey, I'm giving away tickets to the circus.  I can do that!

Things have not been so fun around here lately so I'm not going to ask for a lot.  Please, just leave me a comment and make me a laugh.

Rules are that the tickets are for the circus in DC, Baltimore or Fairfax only and tickets are for opening night at those locations only.  You can chose your location.  Two winners will be selected at random by me and the tickets are provided by momcentral.  Contest closes at 8 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2009 and a winner will be announced on Friday morning on my shoe Friday post.

But, even if you don't win, or you don't live in the DC area, I have a deal for you.

I would love to win tickets to the circus in Fairfax!
I recently started a new website that lists all the local area events on the weekends. How silly of me to omit the circus! I’m correctly my error now!
Thanks for the opportunity! Hope we win!
I will also blog about your giveaway…
I did a quick search for circus humor; here is what I found!

Hope it cheers you up!

I just asked both of my kids for a joke for you.
From the 10 year old: What kind of cheese does a monster eat? Monster-ella.
Why did the coach go to the bank? To get his quarter back.
From the 7 year old: What type of animal do you never want to play cards with? A cheetah.
From me: The other day, my kids started saying, “Yippe-cay-yeah, Mamacita!” Of course, before the last word was out, I was ready to puke. Then they said Mamacita, and I felt a little better. Turns out it’s from the Chipmunks Movie. They really need to warn us parents before they do things like that.
I don’t live near DC, so don’t enter me in the contest. I just wanted to help cheer you up. Reading your blog actually cheers me up every day, so it’s the least I could do to return the favor.

I want the tickets!
My something funny…
until about 4 months ago, I thought that the song Jack n’ Diane was saying “make us swim in a can.” (The real words are “make us women and men.”) I figured, John Mellencamp is from Indiana, maybe swimming in a can is something they do there! (I’m from Indiana too and have never heard of it, ahem, but I’m not from small-town Indiana.) I thought maybe it was like swimming in a rock quarry.

My 3 yo’s fave joke is a classic:
Why was 6 afraid of 7?
Because 7 8 9.
She thinks it’s the funniest joke ever. Even though I don’t think she gets it.

What do you get when you cross a parrot and a centipede?
wait for it…….
A walkie talkie!!!
I know I am too far away from DC to win tickets, but I hope I at least make you laugh.
