It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Captain Camerica

Doug has a lot of really odd board games.  His family is really into board games and they play them all the time.  They are not your average games like Scrabble and Monopoly.  They are games you have probably never heard of.  I have reluctantly been indoctrinated into it.  Some of them are ok.  Some of them I hate.

He has slowly started the brainwashing Michael process.  It's ok.  I actually think Doug is so smart because he didn't watch tv and played these crazy ass games.  One of the games he has is based on Marvel super heroes.  All Michael wants to do is play it but it is way beyond him.  So he just gets the little figurines out and gives them names and assigns them super powers.  But, he does it in the same vein of the tv show "Super Why."  So, instead of "Super Why with the power to read" we get "Spider Man with the power to web."

But then it gets really bizarre.  Because I have never seen half of these "superheroes" that are in this box I can't tell Michael what their names or "superpowers" are.  So Michael starts making up names and superpowers.  Like "stretchy guy with the power to stretch."  And "rock guy with the power to rock."  And "fire guy with the power to fire."

And my favorite "Captain Camerica with the power to Camerica"

But seriously, what the hell was Captain America's superpower anyway?  The power to save America?

Totally irrelevant but a guy I know used to mud wrestle under the name Captain America. I laugh everytime I hear the name to this day. As for his super power….no idea. Captain Camerica with the power to Camerica is pretty funny. Our daughter really loves Super Why too.

I have no idea about Captain America- I think he had a shield- but big deal- is he just strong, but that’s the hulk…

I have no idea about Capt. America – I know he existed, but have no idea what he did. Encourage patriotism? I dunno. But how fun is Michael’s imagination, huh?

Is this the matching game? If so, Logan has that one and the only reason I know all the names is that it came with a little booklet in the beginning.
And I have no idea what Captain America’s superhero power is, I can’t help you there.
