From
the moment Michael got up yesterday morning and saw the snow he started begging me to go outside. I was like "Michael, it's 7:30 in the morning and I have got to have some coffee. And it's 12 degrees outside." I relented at 10:30 when it was 19. Man I hate the cold
But Michael thought it was a paradise. For an hour. And then he started crying he was freezing. It took all of my maturity not to say "told ya so." I took him in and made him hot cocoa.
But hey, I remembered my actual camera, not my iPhone, and even took some video. Look at me. I'm like a real blogger.

Maybe we should get this child a sled. And a hat that fits his head so he could see.
I had hoped that this all this activity would buy me a nap. I think we are officially all done napping. But, at least when we put him to bed he is down for the count and there is no more screaming Mommy and Daddy for hours. But I miss naptime. When I could workout. Or sit on my couch and read blogs and tweet. Oh wait, I do that when Michael is awake.

Very cute! Lucas was also begging to go outside way too early. We were out for 2 hours and I was more than ready to go inside but he was taking off his gloves saying “Mama, I’m not cold!” Luckily, it did buy me a good long nap. Oh I can’t even think about the day of no naps. AHHHH!
Coming in for hot cocoa was always my favorite part of playing in the snow as a kid.
A blizzard to an almost 50 year old is a wonderful thing! I was hoping for enough to go sledding, but I forgot to hope on the weekend . . . still had to go to work. Looks like you had an awesome time!
look identical to my day yesterday! FUN!
So muchfun. When we lived in Boston when I was a kid we had this huge hill in our backyard that we used to “sled” down using the lid of a garbage can.
That’s a perfect hill for a kid his age – is that near your house? We really don’t have great hills – too many trees, or you end up rather abruptly in the lake. I had an awesome hill across from my house when I was growing up; it was the back of the ES and it was huge and we used to station people at the top and bottom of the road to watch for cars and we’d sled on it. Thanks for the great memory.
Mmm, hot cocoa with little marshmallows? And cookies? That’s the best part of snow days.
We got a bunch of snow here over the weekend – it has been fun watching the kids get crazy in it.
Naps? I am SO over them. It was such a fight to get Arun to take one, it was rarely worth it. Arun still takes one occasionally, but Anjali still needs them. I am ready to be done with naps – I want my life back and to be able to make mid-day plans again. Bleh.
I want to say “HA HA, told you so!!” to my kids ALL the time. I usually refrain. Usually.
