What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?

Got diagnosed with 2 chronic life long diseases. And potty trained.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

My New Years Resolutions were to be healthy and to recycle, both of which I did. And my resolution for next year is to keep doing everything I can to be as healthy and live as cleanly as possible while still drinking alcohol. I'm not crazy.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Amy, and some real life non bloggy friends, and I look forward to many more close friends giving birth in 2009!

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Fortunately, no.

5. What countries did you visit?

Other than this one, none.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

My health.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

September 1, 2008, when I first got sick.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Just keepin' goin'

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not finally losing the 10 pounds that have been haunting me forever. And the forever potty training of Michael.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

my iPhone

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My husband, who has stepped up to the plate in every conceivable way.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Internet trolls, I mean come on people, can't we just all get along.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Mortgage, food, staples of life.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Michael pooping in the potty. President Elect Obama. Totally the same thing.

Gone to the doctor.

20. How did you spend Christmas Hanukkah?

At my parents house and then at our house, one present every night. And arguing with Fisher Price to send me a dinosaur.

More and more each day with my son and husband.

Oh gee, would be impossible to list them all, but Friday Night Lights, Grey's Anatomy, and Gossip Girl.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

No.

24. What was the best book you read?

Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?

I'm so not the person to answer this question. I like crappy music.

26. What did you want and get?

The Tassimo coffee maker. And an iPhone.

27. What did you want and not get?

A 3 stone diamond ring for my right hand. Yeah, I'd cry me a river too.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?

Hah! You're serious? Sex and The City, because I saw that, like, in the theater.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

33, and we went to Minibar, where Chef Jose Anders cooks for you. It was amazing.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Not getting sick. Finding a new job.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?

I dyed my hair red!

32. What kept you sane?

Wine.

Patrick Dempsey. Jon Stewart. Stephen Colbert.

34. What political issue stirred you the most?

Proposition 8. Stopping John McCain from getting elected.

The Me before.

You get through in life what you have to.
