I have a nomination for the best invention of the 21st Century

Michael hates taking medicine. In fact, he will spit it out at me. That's right, when I give me kid medicine I end up with children's syrupy sticky gooyeness in my hair. It's delightful.
This weekend Michael got a really bad cough that was keeping him up all night. He wouldn't take the Pediacare liquid, he wouldn't take the Benadryl, he would take anything.
I found this.
Is it okay that I told him it was candy? He loves it now.
I want to kiss whoever came up with that.

My boys wont’ take the thin strips, but I’m glad Michael did. They do make chewable Tylenol and Benedryl for little ones over 2. My kids think those are candy. I love chewable meds!

very smart! whoever thought liquid on a spoon around children was a good idea?

then it went to those measuring cups. then it went to chewables–which taste like chalk.

i’d take an adult listerine-like strip of medicine.

Those are great!! Tylenol has melt aways too. (I’m sure other brands do to now to keep up with the competition). They make giving medicine SOO much easier!!

Zoe has never had an issue with taking medicine (thank God). She (so far) sucks down any medicine in a dropper pointed towards her. I’ve become fond of those Tylenol meltaways, though. So much neater. I can’t wait to try these Triaminic strips now. (Not that I’m anxiously waiting for illness.)

Oh! I’ve given that to Fly. He spits it out, I put it back in, he spits it out, I put it back in and by then it’s dissolved (hopefully on his tongue).

I worry if I tell the kids it’s candy, they’ll sneak it and eat a bunch of it.

I am jealous. I can’t get Andrew to even take this. Yes, it melts in an instant on his tongue and yet he can still manage to gag it up and vomit all over the hallway. It’s so not nice.
Medicine and Andrew are not friends. I am beginning to think they never will be…
