My hits are way down and my comment numbers are shrinking. Are people finally sick of me, or does blog reading just stop in the summer when the kids are out of school and the weather is nice?

It’s just summertime; new schedules for a lot the kids and therefore the adults, too.
That and the heat is likely driving many, many folks to find cool pools and other activities to stop the droning of, ”Mommmmmmmmmmmmmm we’re hawwwwwwwwwwwwt” which is, you know, music to any mom’s ears, heh.

I imagine summer does have an effect on blog reading. I know I was away last week and missed the internet badly. I’m sure with people on vacation numbers will go up and down.
