I can't do it anymore. Not blog. (It's amazing how quickly this becomes an addiction). Only talk about Virginia Tech. It's just so sad. I need to step away from CNN and washingtonpost.com.
Remember when I said this was going to be a semi regular feature, but then never talked about it again. Well, it's back, and the next subject is makeup.
I have to admit, I am a huge girley girl. I love makeup, and clothes. I'm not so into shoes and handbags, because that is just a lot of effort to try and match all the time.
I have worn a lot of different makeup, but in the past year, have discovered my favorite, Bare Escentuals. People have very strong feelings about this line, they either love it or hate it, but I absolutely love it. I think it leaves your skin glowing and the it doesn't feel "makeupy" on your face at all. (I'm one of those people who wash their face the minute they get in the door because I can not stand the feeling of makeup).
I've used other expensive makeup for years (Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown) and I always had a problem with after about noon I had no makeup on. My skin is combination, but the oily is really oily, and the makeup just slides off. This makeup stays on. The best evidence I have was at an outdoor wedding in 100 degree heat. After 3 hours, I went to the bathroom and my makeup was perfect. My skin is better since I started using it, way less frequent breakouts. It is about the same price as other lines, but it lasts forever, and I buy makeup only about twice a year now, normally because I am sick of the color. The first day I wore it to work I got so many compliments. I can put it on in 5 minutes and it's easy to change from daytime to nighttime. I will say that I still use Smashbox Photofinish primer under my makeup to make it last.
If you are interested in it, I would suggest going to Sephora, have them tell you what color starter box to get, and try it. They will take it back if you don't like it. Then start experimenting with other pieces, like the eye shadows and stuff. Also, the starter box from Sephora has a great moisturizer that I use as my primary moisturizer now. It is not oily at all and also has contributed to less breakouts. The moisturizer I was using before was too thick. Ulta also has a starter box, it's cheaper, but does not come with the moisturizer.
I'm currently wearing the new "camp" set, and it is the perfect "I'm not wearing makeup but I'm wearing makeup look." The other thing I like about Bare Escentuals is that they put lots of sets out, so you don't have to worry about matching colors or making sure things will look okay together. They do that for you!
(I just re-read this and it totally sounds like I am getting a kick-back from Bare Escentuals. I'm not, I promise!)
So, what do you all think, still like this not so regular "feature?"

I use it too! Its been 2 years. Love it… I ALSO use the Smashbox primer.. I think its funny that we have a lot in common. I use to be a big Bobbi Brown user but by 12noon I always looked like I had no make up on! I still sometimes use Bobbi’s concealer though because my circles are so bad and it seems BE isn’t covering them well enough. Your cute! I like this thread. I need to start blogging today. Its been hectic to make time.

I used to use it, however this happened: a makeup artist that I was working with while being the wardrobe manager for MoMix told me that I looked like an old lady.
I think she was right. I was using it correctly and even watched the DVD. But for some reason, I loved it for the first year I wore it and then after that something happened. It settled into all of my creases. I do go back and forth about wearing it again because I kept all of it. But now I use a Stila oil-free and I’m very happy with it. It always stays on and I never have any problems or feel that sticky feeling. I’d really be asking for trouble now if I wore the B.E. because my new acne medicine makes my skin a little flaky no matter what moisturizer I use…it’s part of the shedding process while my skin gets used to it.
Yes, I love this feature!

Yes, I love this feature. But this post makes me feel like I need to return my Kentucky birth certificate.
My idea of a full face of makeup is lipstick, eye liner and mascara. And that happens 2-3 times a year. I’m lucky if I put on lipstick once during the day.
But I really envy folks that look put together and gorgeous. I’m jut too lazy.

I like the “I Like It” feature. And you actually made me kind of want to try that makeup. And I don’t wear ANY makeup. At all. Mostly because I can’t stand stuff on my face.

I’m with Erin on the not wanting anything on my face.
Hey Ms. Thing, my Yahoo is down so don’t think I’m avoiding our usual lovely evening conversations. I just can’t get into my emails.
